안녕하세요 ‘수화백’으로 활동하고 있는 일러스트레이터 이수민입니다.
수화백의 의미는 이름 이수민의 ’수’와 화백이란 단어가 조합된 작가명입니다.
일상의 한 부분이 된 그림그리기는 활력을 불어다 줍니다. 아무것도 아닌 하루를 특별하게 만드는 재주가 있거든요. 매번 똑같은 하루를 지겨워 한 적이 있었지만, 그림 습관을 들이며 어제와 같은 오늘은 없다는 걸 알게 됐습니다. 일상의 모든걸 섬세하게 관찰하고 있자면 어느것 하나 밋밋한 것이 없습니다. 대상이 사람일 경우 말투, 표정, 습관을 자세히 보고 있자면 저마다 사랑스러운 구석을 발견하게 됩니다. 그걸 글이나 그림으로 기록하는거죠. 제가 느낀 감정과 오감을 함께 공감 해주시면 좋겠습니다 :)

I'm tired of the same day every time I've done it before, but I've made a habit of drawing and found out that there's no day like yesterday. If you're observing everything in your daily life carefully, there's nothing dull about it. If the target is a person, if you look closely at their way of speaking, expression, and habits You find yourself lovely. You record it in writing or painting.
